Top Flat-Panel TV

Sharp elite pro-x5fd series

The picture of the Sharp Elite PRO-X5FD LED TV delivers deeper black levels and better contrast than any other LCD or plasma on the market. Unlike other full-array local dimming TVs, it maintains its superior picture from normal viewing angles and blooming artifacts are virtually nonexistent. Color is relatively accurate, shadow detail is excellent and video processing does everything we expect. The screen maintains black levels well under ambient light. No-nonsense styling, best-ever energy efficiency and a nearly-complete feature set, including two pairs of 3D glasses, ice the cake tastefully.  Even with its superb performance, it's impossible to call the gratuitously expensive Elite a good value. Blue/green areas are less accurate than we expect from a TV of this caliber, uniformity and off-angle aren't quite as good as plasma, and its screen creates relatively bright reflections.

Samsung PND8000 series

The Samsung PND8000 series has outstanding overall picture quality, with excellent black-level performance, and the most accurate color of any TV we've ever reviewed. It can handle bright rooms well and exhibits the nearly perfect screen uniformity of plasma, as well as superb 3D picture quality. It includes built-in Wi-Fi and a comprehensive set of picture controls. The Smart Hub Internet portal boasts more apps and streaming services than the competition, along with a functional Web browser, and is easier to use thanks to the included dual-sided Bluetooth keyboard with a screen and QWERTY keyboard. The PND8000's design is one the most attractive of any plasma we've seen. The relatively expensive PND8000 cannot produce full shadow detail or proper 1080p/24 cadence without sacrificing some black-level performance. Smart Hub lacks Amazon Instant, its search is next to useless, and its interface can be cluttered and confusing.

Panasonic TC-PST50 series

The affordable Panasonic TC-PST50 series exhibited outstanding overall picture quality, characterized by exceedingly deep black levels with great shadow detail, accurate colors, and solid bright-room performance. Unlike LCDs, as a plasma it has superb off-angle and uniformity characteristics. The styling is attractive and the feature set well-chosen, including excellent onscreen help options.  The ST50 uses more power than competing LCD TVs, and doesn't perform as well in bright rooms as those with matte screens. It doesn't include 3D glasses, and 3D picture quality showed more crosstalk than many competitors' models. The ST50 is only available in 50-inch and larger sizes. Three HDMI inputs is one fewer than most midrange TVs offer.

Top Digicam

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX200V

If you're looking for the ultimate ultracompact point-and-shoot, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX200V is probably it. Too bad its price tag is ridiculously high.

Fujifilm X-Pro1

The Fujifilm X-Pro1 is a nice compromise if you can't afford a Leica but want to approximate the experience and get some stunning photo quality to boot.

Canon PowerShot SX260 HS

The Canon PowerShot SX260 HS' wider, longer lens, a few much-needed design tweaks, and excellent photo quality add up to one pretty great compact megazoom.

Nikon D800

An unsurprisingly great camera that's worth every penny of its higher price for its target market of professional nonsports photographers, the Nikon D800 should definitely please those who've been waiting patiently to replace their older Nikon equipment.

Best HTC phones

HTC ONE S

The One S is decently equipped in its own right; it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has integrated Beats audio technology. Its large 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen shines, as does HTC's latest version of the Sense UI. The One S has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a sharp 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter.

HTC ONE X
HTC's high-end One X has a large HD screen and a camera that HTC claims is its best yet--both features that will help anchor the smartphone maker's new signature brand.Specs are appropriately vaulted on this handset, with a large 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 display that features a 1,280x720-pixel HD resolution and Gorilla Glass. With a 0.36-inch (9.27-millimeter) profile, the black or white One X is a pretty big device, the same size as the HTC Titan and the Sensation XL.

HTC Sensation XL

Features of the Sensation XL are impressive as well. It ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the HTC Sense 3.5 overlay, and is powered by a 1.5GHz single-core processor. You get 16GB of onboard storage, but it seems that it's not expandable, which seems odd to us. There's also an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, and it features several cool camera features like an automatic panorama mode

 HTC Titan
The HTC Titan has a premium and polished design coupled with a colorful and vibrant display. It ships with the latest Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, and has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, an 8-megapixel camera that takes great pictures, and a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chat. The HTC Titan could be a little too large for small hands, and it doesn't offer expandable memory. We expected better call quality as well. The HTC Titan's big and beautiful design and impressive features make it one of the better Windows Phone.

HTC Titan II
With an arrestingly large 4.7-inch screen, 4G LTE, satisfying performance, and the highest-resolution camera ever on a U.S. smartphone, the HTC Titan II raises the bar for Windows Phone devices. While an ultrasharp shooter sounds great, we're not sure about paying an extra $100 for the privilege. The phone's massive size could be an issue for smaller hands and the display wasn't as sharp as we'd like. The HTC Titan II pushes the limit of just how big and capable a Windows smartphone can be. If it weren't for the lower-priced Nokia Lumia 900, the Titan II would be the greatest Windows Phone 7 handset to walk the earth.

My Personal Gadgets

This is my HTC Sensation XL with beats, I'm now using this for my Sun Cellular and the Features of the Sensation XL are impressive. It ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the HTC Sense 3.5 overlay, and is powered by a 1.5GHz single-core processor. You get 16GB of onboard storage, but it seems that it's not expandable, which seems odd to us. There's also an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, and it features several cool camera features like an automatic panorama mode.

This is my Acer Iconia Tab A500, its has a 10.1 inches screen with 1280 x 800 display resolution. It has an internal memory of 32gb supported by microSD/microSDHC, you get a camera of 5megapixels with automatic focus adjustment also with the LED Light, and the camera at front has 2megapixels. It is also supported by the Operating System of Android HoneyComb 3.0, upgradable upto 4.0.

This is my Blackberry Bold 9780 for my Globe, It has a Blackberry OS6 with the external memory of 2GB. This smartphone has a Messaging services such as Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant, Messenger Service (AIM), BlackBerry Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ, and Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger). The camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels HD, this model will give you better pictures than other phones, with a an auto focus adjustment, with LED Light. And lastly it has GPS Navigation system and GPS Software such as BlackBerry maps.

This my Flip Video camera, it has 3.2 megapixel camera, it records for about 60 minutes, but it doesn't take pictures, it only takes video. It has also a USB port at upper right of it, for transferring or uploading to your pc.

This is my MacBook Pro Applethis is the first laptops featuring these processors that we've reviewed. My laptop has a 17-inches MacBook Pros sport quad-core Core i7s. Graphically, the 17-inch Pros have shifted to using AMD graphics instead of Nvidia, featuring AMD HD 6490 or 6750 GPUs.

This is my HP Pavilion i forgot the version, but it has an operating system of Windows 7 Home Premium and a special edition with Influx Imprint Finish that provides enduring high-glass style. Light scribe Direct Disc Labeling, makes personalized, monochrome, silkscreen-quality labels on my Light-scribe enabled media. It also has HP webcam and integrated microphone enable me to capture video and chat live, and it is supported with NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS with 256MB dedicated memory delivers advanced 3D graphics for an unrealistic gaming experience.

This is my Canon S95, it is Attractive and well-designed; capable of producing very nice photos; complete set of manual controls; solid 720p video, but on the slow side, with subpar battery life; no low-compression JPEG option. Though we'd like it to perform better, dSLR shooters looking for a sidekick camera will find the Canon PowerShot S95's top-flight photos and a full manual feature set worth the tradeoff of its compact size

This is my Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab, it has a camera of 3.2 megapixels, with an os of Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo), upgradable to v2.3, it goes with the screen size of 7 inches, and also protected with Gorilla glass.

Best 5 laptops

Apple MacBook Pro Fall 2011
Apple MacBook Pro Fall 2011
Best mainstream laptop

The good: Incremental updates to the CPU help keep the MacBook Pro line a step above the now-mainstream MacBook Air. The trackpad and gesture controls are still the best of any current laptop.
The bad: Unless you need an optical drive, the MacBook Air may be a better fit for most, and the Pro still lacks things we'd like to see, such as HDMI, Blu-ray, and USB 3.0.
The bottom line: A MacBook Pro is a significant investment, especially when adding in optional upgrades. Cost aside, there's not a better choice (there are, however, some close ties) for an all-around powerhouse that will work in the home, the office, and in between.

MacBook Air Summer 2011

Apple MacBook Air 2011 (13-inches)
Best thin 13-inch laptop
The good: The 13-inch MacBook Air has been updated with the latest Intel CPUs for better performance and battery life. Backlit keyboards make a welcome return.
The bad: The 128GB SSD drive is a lot smaller than a standard hard drive. This also starts at $100 more than the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
The bottom line: The latest version of the 13-inch MacBook Air vastly outperforms its predecessor, and can finally be called suitable for mainstream use, instead of relegated as a niche product.

HP Folio 13
HP Folio 13
Best Windows ultrabook
The good: The HP Folio 13 has everything that matters most in an ultrabook: very good battery life, an excellent backlit keyboard, all the requisite ports for mobile use, and a very comfortable feel, along with a competitive entry-level price.
The bad: The Folio 13 is no looker compared with other ultrabooks, and is a bit thicker and heavier than thin laptops such as the MacBook Air. The clickpad's just a bit too finicky for our tastes, too.
The bottom line: When it comes to Windows ultrabooks, the HP Folio 13 is the best of the bunch in terms of performance, price, and ergonomics, provided you can live with a less-than-razor-thin design. This laptop is targeted at small businesses but it's really for anyone who wants a reliable ultrabook that isn't a MacBook Air.

HP Envy 15 (winter 2012)
HP Envy 15
Best midsize Windows laptop
The good: The updated HP Envy 15 has premium design and performance for a decent price, plus swanky extras such as a backlit keyboard and physical volume control wheel.
The bad: Despite the big touch pad, multitouch gestures are still finicky, and the new look is so MacBook-like, it's like HP isn't even trying to pretend otherwise.
The bottom line: HP's Envy line has always been a reliable high-end PC laptop line, and this new redesign adds some useful features, such as a volume wheel, while keeping the upscale look and feel.

HP Pavilion dm1z

HP Pavilion dm1z
Best budget ultraportable
The good: A solid upgrade to one of our favorite laptops, the new HP Pavilion dm1z adds Beats Audio, a better touch pad, and an updated AMD processor.
The bad: Benchmark scores and battery life are about the same as those of the previous dm1z, and a promised Intel Core i3 version is still MIA.
The bottom line: There have been plenty of 11-inch AMD-powered ultraportables this year, but HP's Pavilion dm1z was the first, and this updated version puts it back in the lead in this crowded category.
